No Limit Bairro Alto

The staff were kind and helpful, and the location is great. But with so many people packed into large rooms full of bunk beds, there’s noise all the time. It only gets somewhat quieter around 2 a.m., unless there’s an event, a holiday, a soccer match, loud inconsiderate guests, or something else going on. Even by hostel standards, I wouldn’t call it a place to sleep.

We had a great location for our four-night stay in private room 503, but the room itself was falling apart. A steady leak from the sink in the main room kept us from sleeping the whole time. We reported it to the “reception” and got ignored. I’d never recommend the place. The location is the only reason I’m giving it two stars instead of one.

I met some really good people during my three nights here. It’s clean, easy to get into, and well located, so I’d still recommend it without hesitation. The street gets noisy at night, and the AC was too cold and made a lot of noise. Still, it’s a very good place to stay.

For the price and the location, this was a good find. I was in one of the private rooms, which had simple decor and was clean, as was the bathroom. It does get loud because of where it is, though I live in a city and am used to that kind of noise.
