There isn't breakfast, but in Lisboa that's not much of a problem. Do check the room before you settle in: the standard one is in the basement, with a small window just 0.5 m above ground, so people outside could look in. They also have rooms with quite different, much better conditions.

We were there around St. Anthony’s Day and the neighborhood was full of craic. The location is perfect, but with suitcases or heavy bags, take the tram uphill and walk back down. Seriously. Our bed felt like cement blocks, and the really soft pillows didn't help. My solution was a few drinks, then an early start and a walk to shake it off.

A lovely place to stay in Lisbona, and the bathroom was always clean. It can get a little noisy sometimes, but the pensao is still a very good place.

The price felt fair, and the place was clean with very friendly staff. One drawback: there’s no heating in the rooms, which becomes a problem after October.

For what it costs, this is good value. The room was clean, though old and worn. There was noise nearby from party tourists.
