Hotel Real Palacio

The rooms need renovation, and the hotel doesn’t live up to its five-star rating. Air conditioning and ventilation were poor, and the rooms felt quite humid. Breakfast was good, but the choices barely changed from day to day. I also found it odd that staff swept guests’ rubbish onto the floor after they left, even with people at nearby tables. What bothers me most is that hotel staff can access the in-room safe. After checking in, I put a bag with my documents and money inside, and the safe stayed locked throughout my stay. At the airport after checkout, I found that some USD cash was missing and Indonesian bills had been left in its place. Thankfully, my passports were still there. Management ignored my complaint, saying that only two hotel employees can access the safe at a time. Safety at this hotel is nonexistent. The hotel staff are stealing money!

The public areas were clean and pleasant for sitting down to talk or have a drink. Food was great and reasonably priced, including the drinks. Breakfast had plenty of choice, and staff cleared plates and replenished the buffet. The hotel is well placed for both the airport and the city. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, and I’ve stayed in many. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the staff were professional, friendly, and happy to help with anything. Thank you for a fantastic staycation. We’ll certainly return.

A good option for the price, especially if you want a well-located place in Lisbon. The staff weren’t very friendly, particularly at breakfast, and I found ants in the room. Breakfast quality and choice weren’t great. Still, with Lisbon prices these days, it’s a decent choice.

The rooms and facilities are showing their age, so by current standards I wouldn't call this a five-star hotel. But the staff are so incredibly friendly that they deserve six stars, which still makes the rating feel fair.
