Residencial Mar dos Acores

The room smelled strongly of mold, with it visible all over the walls. The bathroom was unbearable, and the damp air kept us from sleeping properly. We even had to wash our clothes several times to get the room’s smell out of them. With the window looking straight onto the floor of other rooms, we had to keep it shut. The metro is about a 10-minute walk away, and there are bus stops nearby for getting to the city center. We usually don’t expect much from a hotel in a big city, but this was the worst place we’d ever seen.

I stayed two nights, thinking it was a decent deal, but the room on the fourth floor reeked of heavy smoke. The shower was dirty, and the beds were just mattresses on the floor. If you can, spend a little more for somewhere decent. I’m not coming back.

The first room was full of mold, and I got a headache and had trouble breathing. They moved me to another room without a fuss. It was still small, but didn’t smell. The place isn’t laid out very well and a few corners were a little dirty, though the rooms, toilets, and showers were clean. Two stars because without the mold, it would’ve been fairly okay for the price.

I was there for three nights and nobody cleaned the room or even took out the trash. Bring your own towels too, the ones provided were kind of dirty. The floor was dirty, and both the room and toilet were tiny. Simply, avoid.
