Sant Jordi Hostels Lisbon

The kitchen is huge and has everything you need to cook, with a large dining space that has one long table and smaller ones for groups. It’s a big hostel, so there are chances to chat with other travellers if that’s your thing. The location isn’t ideal for local dining, but plenty of places are 15-20 minutes away on foot or by metro. It’s close to the metro and you can walk to basics like a grocery store. I really enjoyed my stay. The dorms were spacious, with a good amount of storage, and the whole place was very clean, with cleaners around the entire time. Most of the reception team were incredibly helpful and went out of their way. One thing to know: they won’t make exceptions to change or refund a booking after the cutoff date.

The location was decent, with plenty of pastelerias and local restaurants nearby. I liked the clean, shared kitchen and would be keen to use it more when I return. The rooms were clean too, and there were lots of shower cubicles on the floor, with hot water and a hairdryer. There was a problem with my room booking at first, but the receptionist sorted it out quickly and professionally. The room was affordable, and I enjoyed the Imperial Garden. There was also a lovely young male bartender who served me. Many thanks to **Belita** the receptionist, though I hope I’ve spelled her name right, for the friendly hospitality. :D

There’s plenty close by, including restaurants, bars and supermarkets, and the prices were very affordable. The breakfast was abundant and typical, and the hostel has activities and recommendations to keep you occupied even if rainy weather keeps you inside. The highlight for us was the lovely garden and its bar, open at night. It feels like a little oasis in the city, great for relaxing or meeting other travelers. Staff were welcoming, friendly and happy to suggest things to do. My friends and I had a wonderful time at Sant Jordi Hostels in Lisbon and would absolutely recommend it. It’s beautiful and full of character, with many rooms, and sits very close to bus stops and the metro, so getting around is easy.

For the price, this place is incredible. It’s my favourite hostel in Europe, with really nice, high quality beds and clean facilities. The beautiful old garden and terrace are a big draw too, along with the in-house bar, late night atmosphere and good places to hang out.
