The Vintage Hotel & Spa - Lisbon

The rooms varied a lot for me. I stayed in three, and two were significantly better than the first, which was the worst. My wife was there for that first room, then after she left I got two great ones. That’s why I’d give the rooms four stars. The location is ideal, between the upscale shopping district and Principe / Barrio Alto, where the city feels dense and lively. The staff were lovely and attentive. The rooftop and restaurant are world class, with an amazing cocktail program, very good food, and good value. The spa is peaceful and amazing. The gym is basic, just free weights, a bike and a treadmill, so it covers the bare minimum. The steam room and sauna, though, are world class, better than the ones at my Equinox gyms back home. I’d love to stay here again next time I’m in Lisboa.

We felt treasured from the moment we arrived. The service and attention to detail were impeccable, from morning cappuccinos to the lobby’s nightly hot chocolate bar. Having our own spa time, nightly turndown service, and rooftop sunsets made it feel like a luxurious home in the city. The location is great for walking to city highlights, and I loved that our street was safe and quiet. Our room was spacious and full of thoughtful touches, including free gin and tonic kits, a hair dryer diffuser attachment, and a sumptuous bed with lots of pillows. Even on the same floor as the rooftop, it was quiet and easy to sleep. The rooftop is gorgeous, small and private, with a little water view and a big wine selection. This was a luxury five-star experience at a very reasonable price.

The staff went above and beyond for us. My father-in-law had a birthday during our stay, and they brought him a cake, which we really appreciated. They also helped when my in-laws asked for a bowl to cook noodles at night, and can arrange airport transfers both ways. The staff do their best to accommodate requests. Breakfast works a little differently: you order hot items from a menu, and there’s a buffet with things like toast and yogurt. The location is great if hills don’t bother you, though much of Lisbon means walking uphill anyway. We enjoyed our stay at The Vintage Lisbon and would definitely return if we’re in Lisbon again.

We’d happily come back. The room was a great size, the bed very comfortable, and the staff were kind and helpful. The Vintage Hotel is a cute, luxurious boutique hotel in a prime spot, up on a hill in Principle Real with easy access to great restaurants and other activities.
