Vilapura

For naturists visiting the Algarve, this could be a great place to start. It’s small, so people naturally get to know each other, and it’s close to one of the Algarve’s best official naturist beaches. Portugal was missing a place like this. It feels like a life project built around quality and friendship. You feel welcome as soon as you meet the owners, managers and other guests. I can hardly rate it, Google doesn’t offer enough stars! I recommend it and will certainly be back next year. 😎

We’d been in Portugal for a month, and Villapura was the one place that truly felt like our own little heaven. It was clean, beautiful and almost paradise-like. The pool and jacuzzi area felt like an oasis, cold drinks were always available, and breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious. The hosts are fantastic people, and we felt lucky to have the freedom to be ourselves. It was my husband’s first clothing-optional experience and he enjoyed it. We were very happy there.

Our stay at Vilapura had good and bad parts. The breakfast was decent, the resort felt private and secure, and our small room opened straight onto the patio and pool. As first-time naturists, we initially felt comfortable. There was no body shaming, and we met some nice couples. But on the second day, a swinger male touched us inappropriately without our consent, and it ruined the experience. When we told the owner, he seemed apathetic about what had happened. The board games in the common room also lean toward swinging. This may not suit couples looking for a purely naturist experience, so be careful.

The food was exquisite, cooked over charcoal right in front of us, and the accommodations and grounds were fantastic. Carlos and Filomena are rare kinds of hosts, friendly and treating you like one of their own. The personal service was unbeatable. Their assistant Carolina was incredibly attentive, and especially helpful in explaining everything about Vilapura in her Spanish. Congratulations, Filomena and Carlos, I take my hat off to you. This is by far the best place I’ve ever stayed, and I’m already planning to return. Until next time, friends.
