We ended up paying more than we had first agreed. The owner's messages, which included a lot of unreasonable instructions, never reached us, but he insulted us several times instead of apologizing. Since it was late and other places cost too much, we had no real choice but to stay. There are passive-aggressive notes all over the place, too, which say a lot about how he treats customers.

The street noise was a problem, especially with the tram line right there. The room wasn't especially clean, though it wasn't dirty either, and a housekeeper came by to tidy it a little. The proprietor, Eugenio, struck me as strange and rather creepy. At €50 a night, this definitely wasn't worth it.

There are no parking spaces, and they don't even suggest an outdoor spot, so finding somewhere for your vehicle is up to you. The owner was also very late and didn't seem bothered by it. I waited 40 minutes outside the locked building, still in my motorcycle gear after a 900 km ride.

After booking, we were told payment was cash only, which made me wonder how much they actually declare for tax. The whole business felt dodgy, as if tourists were there to be exploited and didn't deserve basic respect. The trouble started because we apparently arrived 15 minutes early and broke some complicated hostel rules. The owner kept insulting us on the phone and then in person. We said over and over that we didn't care about the rules and just wanted to check in, but he flat-out refused to host us. At almost 10pm, he left us to find somewhere else to stay in Lisbon. There was no professionalism or basic courtesy at all. Avoid it unless you enjoy being insulted or the prospect of spending the night on the street.

The flat itself was nice and clean, but we were let down by the rest of the experience. Check-in was awkward because nobody was there, so we had to call the person in charge. There are so many rules in the apartment that it felt like being back at school, and the management didn't welcome us very warmly.
