After a week of dorm rooms on The Camino, having our own room and a warm shower at Hotel Padre Cruz felt wonderful, and it was great value. We also had a light dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was tasty, cheap, and filling. Getting there on foot was a bit awkward: we had to cross a busy road and walk along its shoulder for a while. There was also mould visible on the bathroom ceiling.

We were walking the Camino de Santiago and found this one of the nicer places we stayed. It’s a little off the route before Valenca, but not far, and I’d stay there again if we were nearby. The room was very clean, the service friendly and excellent, and breakfast was good. There are restaurants within walking distance for dinner.

The owner and his family were incredibly kind. They picked me up from the road and drove me to their place, then took me to a restaurant in the evening and arranged a ride back so I didn’t have to walk at night. They did all of that for free. A lovely place to stay, and I can definitely recommend it.

Such a tidy family run place. The hosts really went out of their way to make things easy for us. They’re far above what I’d expect from a two star rating. We’ll remember them.
