Palasia Hotel Palau

For an open sea view, book on the 4th floor or higher. The hotel itself is grand, new, clean, and well maintained, with a couple of swimming pools and a nice restaurant serving a good breakfast. They provide towels for scuba divers to take to the dive boats. The staff are polite and quickly responded to my needs, including fixing the door lock. I'd recommend this hotel.

It's centrally located, and there's plenty of parking if you have a car. The staff are friendly and willing to help. The room AC works well, but there's no AC in the lobby or the outdoor bar. The restaurant is air-conditioned and has a reasonable selection of Asian and Western food.

The location was ideal, close to local restaurants, bars, and supermarkets, and the customer service was exceptional. The rooms were wonderfully large, and as a scuba diver I appreciated having plenty of pool towels. The buffet breakfast offered great variety each day. Fantastic stay at Palasia, highly recommend!

After the hotel's reply, manager Amy visited me, and the team's response was excellent. A technician fixed the hot water issue, and another looked at the AC, though nothing could be done about it. Thanks to Amy and management for taking the feedback seriously. I'm still not sure why there are so many 5-star reviews. This hotel let me down in several ways. Breakfast was one of the worst buffets I've had, with everything cold or soggy. You could order a cooked egg or make your own waffle if you wanted something hot. The hot water in the room seemed to work only in the evening. The AC was loud, which made sleeping hard, as did the very hard bed and pillows. One of the two pools had vinyl lining coming apart and looked terrible, and there weren't enough pool chairs when more than 10 people were around. The bar said it couldn't make any cocktails on our second night, or even a G&T. At 7:00 the next morning I waited for the cafe to open, but no staff had arrived. At 7:20 I asked reception if it would open, only to be told it was already open. When I asked for espresso, they couldn't make it and offered to pour me filtered coffee from the breakfast table instead. The staff were friendly enough.
