Cabañas y Boungalow Don Oscar

We left after two days in the cabins because the place was so dirty. The pools had mud, leaves, dirt, and hair in them. When we raised the cleaning issue, the owner acted as if we were imagining it, and came across like a slob. The place looks lovely in photos, but there’s a lot lacking in person. The staff were very friendly, though the owner was rude. Paying extra for breakfast wasn’t worth it either: just coffee, two pieces of toast, butter, and jam.

The staff were all polite and respectful, and the property itself is peaceful, pretty, and spacious. But it needs more light on the patio for walking around, and the pool was filthy, with bugs, leaves, and debris in the water. There was also a noisy frog sitting on the room wall, and one shower didn’t work properly. Before handing over the key, they should do a quick clean. We found leaves in the bathroom, and the place needed dusting before the next guests arrived.

A lovely spot to unwind on a Sunday.

Such a beautiful place, but the noise and pool conditions really take away from it. People are allowed to use speakers at excessive volume, with no apparent control, so the peace is gone for everyone else. The water was dirty and poorly maintained, since people can get in wearing clothes like jeans and T-shirts without showering first. There are no lifeguards or anyone watching the pool, and a child nearly drowned.
