Vila Royal

The hosts were so friendly and attentive to every need that we wished we could stay longer. My family and I have travelled around Europe, and Vila Royal was a last-minute stop for one night. It turned out to be the best decision. We slept wonderfully in an elegant, clean place, and I'd recommend it for a good rest or some lovely photos for your album.

Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the owner lives upstairs, so there's someone around if you need help. We arrived in the evening and left very early, so I can't really say what the neighbourhood is like. Parking is public, wherever you can find a street spot, or there seems to be a parking area across from the Vila. The restaurant is small, about six tables. The food was average, though the man working there alone was friendly and had to cook, tend the bar, and cover reception. There are quite a few stairs, so it won't work for a pushchair or wheelchair. I took off a star because there was only one set of towels for three of us, me, my partner, and our baby. We asked for another for the baby and were told it would come later, but it never did. We didn't push the issue since we were only there overnight.

The whole area feels very safe, day or night. For medical tourism, the Central Hospital is within walking distance, and a street known for its medical clinics is just a 2 minutes walk away. Reception staff speak English, while the owner speaks French and is very helpful if you need something or want directions. By far the best place to stay in this area.

We're on our second night at Vila Royal and love it. It's spotless, warm, cosy, and welcoming, really feels like home. A hot bath and a lovely comfy bed, what more could you want in Bacau? Perfect accommodation. Thank you all.
