The location was convenient, near the center and the Christmas markets, but getting settled was a struggle. We arrived at 14:00, the estimated check-in time, and the woman who met us didn't speak English. She only pointed out the room and left without a word. It didn't match any of the photos from our booking. The windows had been left wide open in weather around 2-3 degrees, and the sofa, windows, and chair looked quite dirty. The bed felt like just a mattress. We went back to ask why we hadn't been given the room we'd paid for. Another woman, who seemed to be the manager, also spoke little English, so we had to use Google Translate. She said that if we went downtown, they'd need about three hours to prepare one of the right rooms. Before that, she'd said none were available. No one told us about the included breakfast, parking, or WiFi. We had to ask, and learned from other tourists that the free parking mentioned on Booking meant parking along the sidewalks. The replacement room's floor was pretty dirty, and there were no bathroom hooks, so we put our towels on the single bed we weren't using. On the first evening, the door wouldn't open after many tries, and we had to ask the receptionist for help getting in. There was no balcony either, despite the booking description. They didn't ask for our ID cards when we arrived, but still gave us a room.

The staff were warm, cheerful, and genuinely helpful, with tasty food and personal attention. Our room was big and clean, but the facilities were old and unreliable. The shower nearly came off the wall, the faucet leaked, and the air conditioning wasn't enough. Don't expect much and you'll enjoy the place.

The room was hot and stuffy, with just one small roof window that wouldn't open wide enough to air it out. It smelled of cigarettes, bugs were flying around, and the walls and ceilings had lots of stains. The mattresses and sheets were dirty, and after we changed rooms, the second one was dirty too. A socket even came loose from the wall 👍🫃😔😔

The staff couldn't understand basic English words like “water,” “breakfast,” or “key.” I've never had a hotel administrator fail to understand words that basic before. I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to foreigners.
