Casa Teo

The owners are a lovely couple, and I felt right at home with them. They gave me a refresher on local history and shared lots of information about the area. Late one evening, I got a lift to Corvins Castle so I could see it lit up. We never got around to having dinner in the garden, but I had a great time with them. Staying in a hotel wouldn't have felt the same.

It's been over a year since my stay at Casa Teo, but I still remember how the gentleman came up the mountain with us. Sorry for dragging him along, though he handled it brilliantly and seemed to enjoy our company as much as we enjoyed his. The hosts made us feel like family. They were warm without trying too hard, and came across as refined and very sensible. That feeling of being welcomed is hard to put into words. As long as you behave civilly, these two will treat you almost like parents. Calling it being “accommodated” feels cold and misses what the place is like.

On arrival, there was water and grapes from the hosts' garden waiting in our room. The guesthouse is nicely furnished, and the bathroom was spacious and clean. On departure morning, they insisted we sit down for tea with biscuits or coffee before we left. Such great hosts. We'll definitely return!
