Casa Cu Farfurii

We stayed for one night and breakfast was included. Everything was wonderful, and I’d gladly recommend it.

We had a lovely lunch at Casa cu Farfurii, right across from the Monastery of Sinaia. We’d read some reviews that made us a little unsure, and at first the place looked deserted enough that we wondered if it was open. More people came in for lunch while we were there, though, and our experience was much better than we expected. It’s not a fancy restaurant, but the breezy terrace overlooking the Monastery of Sinaia is lovely. The staff seemed friendly, the food was delicious, and the dishes were nicely presented. We had gyros and chicken schnitzel, and both were very tasty. The gyros came with Greek pita, tzatziki, and fries, really good. The restaurant’s toilet was very clean too. We’ll eat here again when we’re back in Sinaia.

The food was awful, and so was the service. We were the only customers there, but everything took hilariously long, even getting water and appetizers. The waiters seemed to have no experience, whether with serving or even eating out, apparently. The pasta was mushy like mud and had no flavor. The meat was even worse, literally inedible. For a place that’s supposed to serve Greek food, what we got was a disgrace to Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. As a Greek, I wouldn’t spend my money here. Don’t go for a meal.

The owner was welcoming and funny, and the waiter was really pleasant. The place has plenty of personality, with generous portions of delicious food at reasonable prices. The menu includes more than Greek dishes, with popular options like schnitzel, papanasi, ribs, and others. This was our second visit, and we’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Sinaia.
