The food has been getting worse over the last couple of years. I tried almost everything on the menu and was disappointed each time, so it’s better to take a cab to a nice restaurant. The rooms are pretty worn, and the reception can be a mess. The shuttle is often late or doesn’t show up at all. I’ve stayed here many times on business trips, though it wasn’t my choice, and I wouldn’t recommend it. It might be all right for an overnight stop, but that’s about it. If you need to leave in the morning, check with reception multiple times about the shuttle or get a local driver for $10.

I spent 6 Nights here in mid November 2018 because Chez Lando was full for an international conference. The room was small but clean and okay. The bathroom was acceptable, though the shower barely gave me enough water to wash my hair. Breakfast wasn’t anything special: fruit, cornflakes and toast, with one juice and one jam. There was coffee and tea, and you could order an omelette.

It’s a beautiful hotel, but our group had agreed to book three nights in Kigali at an initial price. When we arrived, the manager decided to raise the amount. We chose to check into another hotel, which was much better and more affordable.

There’s plenty of parking across the hotel’s two buildings, which are separated by KN 54 street. Guests can use the SPA, pool and gym room for free, and other visitors can pay to use them. The cuisine ranges from local to international, and the food tastes good. It’s a nice, romantic place with a healthy atmosphere. I like and respect the owner, who is polite to everyone regardless of how they look. The staff are friendly too.

It’s a beautiful hotel with good accommodation facilities and a relaxing space. I did find it very expensive, though.
