The room occupancy needs a clear maximum. A 2-star hotel I stayed at before had much more space than this 3-star one. The rooms are so compact there isn’t even room to pray two rakah, and the Masjid space on the fourth floor is also small. I don’t understand why that prayer space is locked after prayers. The dining area feels too cramped for the number of guests. There are very few service staff, and room service was poor: I had to call many times, they finally came on the fifth day, and the cleaning wasn’t done properly. The frosted bathroom door is the worst part when you’re sharing a room. The receptionist couldn’t speak basic English, which was frustrating in an international tourist destination where I expected someone who could understand me.

The rooms are so small you have to put your luggage on the bed, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t work consistently. The room door didn’t close properly, and extra keys weren’t provided. Housekeeping isn’t on every floor, so if you forget your key, you have to go downstairs to get them to unlock the room. Bathroom supplies and maintenance were poor. There was no dustbin, the shower was rusty, and even when a maintenance worker came, it would work for only 2-3 hours before the problem returned. There was no brush stand, and the towels and cloths were broken. They say room service is every three days, but after those three days they’re too busy and the room still doesn’t get cleaned. Towels are also supposedly available after three days, but nobody asks or comes to bring fresh ones. They even put napkins in new rooms as towels. The bathroom only had shampoo, no body wash, hand wash, or shower gel. The restaurants are ridiculous, with a cramped area and coupons required every time you enter. Only the main four lifts are available, and they can’t handle the crowds in peak season. Cleaning wasn’t done properly, mosquitoes were in the room all day, and they didn’t help us. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. It may be closer to the Haram, but you can find a much better hotel a little farther away. I’d tell people not to book here again. -1/10 stars.

The rooms are fairly clean, though there are flies. That’s the only good thing I found at this 3-star hotel, which felt more like a 2-star place. The lifts are always crowded, and the Wi-Fi won’t connect. The restaurant food wasn’t tasty, and the dining area was dirty and full of trash. I also felt the restaurant treated Indonesians and other nationalities differently. If you’re going to Mecca, you should consider another hotel.

The experience was very good apart from the wait at the fourth-floor restaurant and the awful smell of Indonesian food, which was a nightmare to tolerate. I’d recommend a separate dining area for people from India, Pakistan, and other countries.

The room looked nothing like the pictures, and the washroom was covered in mould. The whole room smelled damp and mouldy, and we all got sick right away. When I tried to turn up the shower pressure, water came through the ceiling. One staff member, who I think was Egyptian, was very rude.
