Al Mukhtara Plaza Hotel

The place could have been decent value, but the staff were arrogant and seemed intent on making my stay unpleasant. Two reception staff and two cleaners tried to insult me, and they got a friend to comment on my hair and call me an ‘animal’, then burst out laughing. I was also followed by a staff member in a light blue car, a Toyota I think, with license plate 6454, apparently to see which hotel I went to during my stay.

The hotel's ambiance is Awesome, and the location is right across from Gate number 363 of the Holy prophet's mosque and Jannut ul Baqi, with Al Baik plaza behind. After almost a week in Meddinah tul Munawarra, I wanted to share my current experience to guide Pakistani visitors. The service was good, but staff didn’t come to clean the rooms and washrooms daily unless we called. We were used to proper cleaning and hygiene arrangements in Pakistan, and we missed that here. A couple of hotel belongings were malfunctioning, and we registered complaints. Overall, it was good. I recommend it to Pakistani pilgrims, and hopefully you’ll have a better experience with these details. Precious prayers requested.

I stayed with my family, including two kids, in a Quad room at Mukhtara Plaza hotel from 02 August till 12 August. In short, I wouldn’t recommend it for families. The price was 310 SR per night, and the room and service weren’t worth it. The Quad Room was too small for four beds and left almost no room to move with kids. The washroom was cramped, not properly cleaned, had old accessories, and wasn’t properly noise proofed. We could hear voices from the neighboring room and its washroom. Room service was poor. During our ten days, the room was cleaned only twice despite repeated requests, and the beds sheets were changed once. It seemed rooms or floors were handed to different vendors managing their own books, so reception sent us to bell boys or other people instead of solving problems. There was nowhere to sit, and no place to make tea near a socket, so we had to hold the tray while it was plugged in. The fridge was clean and operational. The only plus was the location opposite Jannat ul Baqi. It took around 7-10 mins to reach Namaz for ladies. I don’t recommend this hotel apart from its location.

I booked for eight days last July and was very pleased with the service. The hotel is close to Masjid Nabvi. I appreciate the management and hope Allah grants the hotel continued success.
