Diyar Al Medina Hotel

The hotel's only good point was how close it is to the Holy Mosque. The rooms stank, ventilation didn't work, and the bathroom drains were broken. Nothing was done after we complained, and room service ignored repeated requests to clean. The rooms were terrible. We arrived in the afternoon after being out in scorching heat. The Saudi lady at reception refused to give us water and said we could only buy it. There were six of us sharing two rooms, but she gave us just two key cards and refused when we asked for more. It was difficult when the person holding a card wasn't available. One employee, probably of Sri Lankan origin, came to our rooms every day to harass us and tell us to check out, despite our booking dates and proof of advance payment. On the third day, after I confronted the receptionist aggressively, he finally accepted that we were staying there legitimately, and she told him to stop bothering us. The Saudi reception staff need rigorous hospitality training and need to get off their high horse of arrogance. If they consider themselves so high and mighty, they shouldn't work as hotel receptionists. I won't recommend this hotel to anyone.

I've been here since Sunday, and the staff have been brilliant. My room is actually an apartment, it's very clean, and the cleaner comes every day. The entertainment staff work hard throughout the day and are great at getting everyone involved. They keep working at night too, making time to talk with people and help everyone with any...

The good part is being close to the beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) Rawdham Mubarak. The room, though, has only two sockets, and one is burnt and unsafe to use. An accident could happen at any time, and management is responsible for this.

I came with my family and the service was amazing. The staff were really involving. I'd give more stars if I could.
