Gh Hotel

The location is somewhat remote, but Medina isn't a huge city, and you can get anywhere in 10-15 minutes by car. There's an underground garage, a real plus in an area without street parking. The rooms were large and clean, the staff friendly and professional, and the whole hotel smelled fresh and clean. It was a great hotel.

GH Hotel has a modern look and attractive design, and the staff were respectful when I raised a connectivity problem. My first-floor room had no Wi-Fi and weak 5G, but they moved me quickly to the fifth floor, where it was resolved. The beds were a bigger letdown: the mattresses were so uncomfortable they were almost unbearable, and the fixed beds couldn't be pushed together. The bathroom layout also wasn't appealing. The hotel is some distance from the Haram. Its shuttle runs only for Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha, has limited seats, and seems to be operated by Alyasmeen Al Dahabi Hotel rather than GH Hotel. There's no Fajr shuttle, so missing one may mean taking an Uber at about 25 SAR each way. Factor in the distance and these limitations before booking.

I'd give it 80 out of 100. It's not too far from the Haram, about a 4. Room cleanliness and neatness get a 4, and service gets 4.5.

I booked a room at JH Hotel through Booking.com for January 16th to 17th and told them I'd arrive at 10:30 PM. I got there exactly then, but despite the confirmed reservation, they said there were no rooms. They offered to move me to The Season Hotel, which wasn't the place I'd booked or wanted. I had to arrange and pay for another Uber to get there, adding cost and hassle. Nobody apologized or offered compensation, or even a late check-out. This was extremely disappointing. I hope management improves its booking and customer service processes so this doesn't happen again. Given the uncertainty, I strongly recommend not booking here.
