Villas des Alizes

The hosts were incredibly welcoming. They brought us complimentary local snacks each day, which we really enjoyed, and sorted out taxis, tours, and car rentals for us. All we had to do was show up. The spacious rooms are right on the beach, and there’s a pool. Our room also had all the essentials. Excellent place.

The new owner made our stay seamless and went out of their way to help. We had a lovely view from the room, and it was well equipped for self catering. The one issue was the guests upstairs stomping around through the night. With wooden floors, the noise carries. A simple sign might help.

The location is lovely, the balcony was great, and the staff were helpful. But I wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re sensitive to heat or sleep lightly. There’s only one small, slow air conditioner for the apartment. During a heatwave, it took hours to cool even the bedroom, and when we went out someone would turn the AC off. The fan in the room felt like it might come down on our heads when set to high. The apartment wasn’t very clean either: the Nespresso machine’s water tank had dead insects in it, cleaning happened just once during our four day stay, and the sheet was stained. For toiletries, there was only a shower soap and a hand soap by the sink. Privacy was poor because the windows were very thin and people could see in, and the morning sun came straight into our eyes with no way to darken the room. The owner was rude and unhelpful, acting as if she were hosting us rather than running a place we’d paid for. The price was extremely high for what we got. At half the price it might have been a decent three star hotel.

We needed a different place to stay and chose this one, right on the beach with a supermarket next door. Our first floor apartment had a separate bedroom and a living room with a kitchen, and it was comfortable. There was air conditioning only in the bedroom, so the main room got a bit hot. They cleaned every other day. We skipped breakfast at 15€ each and made our own instead. Paying for the stay in cash euros was irritating, so be warned.
