Radisson Blu Riverside Hotel, Gothenburg

The room was clean and the staff were nice, but there was no breakfast included. Cleaning was pretty poor: they left the same old drinking glass throughout our visit unless we asked them to change it, and they didn't make the bed every day. We had a nice Premiumroom on the 11th floor with a good view and a bathtub, with plenty of room for two. The hotel is in a quiet part of Gothenburg, about a 10-15 minute walk from the town centre. It was our first time here. Neither bad nor good, but my partner and I will look for somewhere else next time in Gothenburg.

We felt at home straight away, partly because the staff spoke excellent English. Alex at reception was professional and friendly, a lovely man and a credit to the hotel, and he made our trip special. We ate at the hotel every night. The bar and restaurant staff were attentive, catered to all our needs, and nothing was too much trouble. The hospitality was impeccable, and the food was cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed the spa too, and the room was lovely and clean. The location suited us, quiet, with a very lovely ferry ride across the water to reach the main areas. Five stars to all the staff who made the trip so memorable. Thank you so much.

Radisson Blu Riverside is a nice, modern hotel by the river, and I had a comfortable stay. But as a VIP member, I didn't feel specially treated. At other Radisson hotels around Europe, such as in Poland and Lithuania, I've had a more personal welcome, like a handwritten note or an exclusive surprise in the room. Here the VIP service felt more like staff were just following the rules, without extra effort to show they value loyal guests. The hotel could do more than what's prescribed. The photos show a welcome for a VIP member that really looks exceptional. As someone loyal to Radisson hotels, I'd like to feel special from time to time.

The breakfast was excellent, with a wide selection and everything you could hope for. The room was cozy, well lit, spacious, and had nice views, though having the bathroom behind a glass door was impractical. Sounds echoed, and it felt less private. The surroundings were pleasant, and the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with just the right number of guests for a romantic dinner. But the staff seemed absent and inattentive, and the food was disappointing, rather bland and dry. The friendly receptionist gave us a very good first impression, though the dinner experience didn't live up to it. Lovely surroundings and rooms, good for an overnight or weekend stay, but perhaps not if dinner is meant to be a highlight of the whole experience.
