Spar Hotel Majorna

For what I paid, this was great value. The room was small but clean, the location was good, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was sufficient, pretty standard for a Swedish hotel like Scandic. I stayed at Spar for three work nights in GB. I knew it wasn’t a luxury hotel, but chose it for the underground parking, which cost the least at 150 kr/day when booked with Parkster. Keep in mind that spaces are limited if you arrive late on Friday or Saturday.

We liked the room, even though it wasn’t very big, and the service was good. They helped me figure out the city’s public transport. The parking situation was frustrating. We paid for 24 hours, but on the day we went home they told us we had to move the car by 3 midday, with about 14 hours still left on the time we’d paid for. That brought our opinion of the place down.

The staff were helpful and really friendly, and breakfast had an incredible range of tasty choices. Our family room was spacious, very clean, and reasonably priced, with comfortable beds and a big bathroom. The hotel is also just a short tram ride from the Sports Stadium.

The location and the hotel’s general layout are the main positives. The room was okay, but an annoyingly bright light came from the fridge, and the bathroom ventilation wasn’t adequate. Parking was very expensive at 172 SEK per 24 hours. The breakfast buffet offered just one kind of meat, pork. It was a somewhat disappointing stay.
