Villa Brunnby

We came with a gourmet stay voucher and were initially swept into what felt like a “cruise on land” with the other voucher guests. Nobody had told us to expect that. There were lots of people, tiny glasses of warm welcome bubbles, and dinner was scheduled for everyone at once. We opted out and were glad that was possible, including getting a table for dinner outside the “cruise ship.” The refurbished old building has charming, authentic decor, and there’s a large garden with plenty of outdoor furniture. Staff were very helpful, though a bit disorganized. Breakfast was good and dinner decent, but wine prices were about 400% higher than the same bottles at Systembolaget. It’s a nice base for hikes in Sweden’s “Toscana” and for trying American BBQ at Holy Smoke.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and there was lots of parking. My wife and I booked a weekend package at what I thought was a very competitive price. Our room was large by Swedish standards and very comfortable, and the five-course dinner was absolutely exceptional.

We spent one night at Villa Brunnby and had a wonderful time. The room was spacious and quiet, with a comfortable bed, and the setting was great for unwinding, with lovely nature and walking paths. Service from the staff was excellent and really made the stay special. We were very pleased with dinner at the hotel restaurant and will definitely return.

Such a lovely gem, with a little extra care in the service. The staff all put you first and made us feel truly welcome and special. Great atmosphere, and the food was amazing!
