Stiftsgården Åkersberg

We especially loved the risotto, and the team made the dinner feel thoughtful. They even offered to prepare a vegetarian dish outside the menu for the three-course meal. The staff were outstanding throughout. The spa is a spectacular little haven in Skåne, with peaceful surroundings and beautiful nature. The hidden wave chairs were fun, and the outdoor pool’s “magic buttons” for the jets were a great surprise. We’d have liked more vegetarian choices at breakfast, but it was a rejuvenating visit and we can’t wait to return.

The location and chapel were lovely, and the rooms were comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. At reception, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helped us with everything. The kitchen was a different story. Our larger group was kept apart from the rest of the hotel and received no communication from the kitchen. The food wasn’t suitable for little kids, and the vegans and vegetarians in our group had to ask for a different meal every single time.

We arrived late while bikepacking, and the keys were waiting at the restaurant. I offered to pay or leave my passport as security, but they told us to rest and settle up in the morning. The room was old, but we appreciated it, especially since we were the only guests there on Monday. There was no breakfast planned, but the woman at the restaurant invited us to sit down and made us some. Such a lovely gesture. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the service was wonderful. We didn’t have dinner, though the decorated tables made it look great. It was very peaceful, and we liked that the rooms have kept a little of the building’s original monastery character.

The location was wonderful, with plenty to do, both free and paid. We had a lovely stay and the food was impeccable. Would definitely come back!
