Hotel by Maude Solna

I left very disappointed. The room hadn’t been prepared properly for two people, some things were missing, and the cleaning wasn’t done well. I had to keep going to reception for help. The breakfast left us literally starving, too. I understand they may not have much of a breakfast culture, but I wish they’d put in more care and effort. Hygiene needs to be inspected. Management should be present and make sure things are being supervised properly, rather than doing it remotely. The payment issue started when I arrived early for my one-night booking for two, which I’d already paid for. Before I’d said anything, the hotel told me early check-in would cost extra and charged me again, including the room fee. I explained I’d paid already and thought the extra charge would be corrected, then went to my room. A few minutes later I checked my account and saw I’d been charged twice. At reception, I showed them what had happened. They apparently spoke to management and said I’d be refunded. The money came the next day, but it was €6 short. I would normally have complained, but didn’t want to make too much trouble. The whole stay left me wondering whether I’d gone on vacation or gone to work.

A decent room for the night, with a good shower and a reasonable breakfast selection. There are convenient transport links nearby.

We came from Finland in February for a Valentine’s celebration and liked the hotel and its location at first. But in the middle of the night, my husband and I woke to extremely loud music and sexual noise from the room next door. We called reception, and they tried to warn the guests, but it didn’t help. I knocked on the door myself and asked them to stop the excessive noise, with no result. We reported it to reception again, but the staff member couldn’t get them to stop. Instead, we were made to move rooms in the middle of the night. It’s strange that reception seemed powerless and couldn’t call security to deal with the disruptive guests. I don’t recommend this hotel. Very, very bad.

The rooms were poor quality and terribly overpriced. My single room had a double bed but only one outlet with two sockets, nowhere near the bed. There was no fridge in mine; my coworker’s fridge barely worked. The bathroom was dirty and had no soap or shampoo, and the thin walls let every hallway noise through. Service seemed okay, but the hotel’s systems were garbage. We’d booked four single rooms, but no single beds were available, so we were given four double rooms. That part was understandable. The room assignment process, though, was a mess. We first used our boss’s name, since he made the booking, then the first coworker’s name when he entered the room code. Because of the swap, we didn’t have access to that code. The second coworker used the first one’s name to get his room, then the third got his room but forgot to change the name, so it stayed under the second coworker’s. When I got my card, it gave me the same room as the second coworker. I don’t blame staff, since it seemed like a system problem, but what should have taken five minutes took almost twenty with all the back and forth. Parking was awful too. We got a “day pass” that lasted until the next day, but it said it was valid only until that date, so it stopped working at midnight. Go literally anywhere else.
