Quality Hotel Strawberry Arena

The main reason I’m writing is the pricing policy, which felt unfair. We were charged for late checkout because we booked through the website, while every other guest who asked in person was allowed to stay longer for free. Also, the official website said weekday breakfast started at 6:30, but it actually began at 7:00, so we waited half an hour. Hotel prices have gone up significantly, and I don’t see anything that justifies such a big increase from a year ago.

The bar makes a great negroni, and breakfast had good bread and met my needs. The room had the basics and was very quiet in a good way. It can be a little tricky to find your way around at first.

The staff will do everything for you, and the location is handy for suburban transport and a gigantic shopping mall, about the size of a small village. Breakfast includes a table of selected Swedish delicacies. If you’re going to the stadium for a match, it may be a decent choice. I wouldn’t recommend it for a business trip where you need to work in your room. Mine was in the “new” part by the stadium and felt like a dungeon, with everything apart from the bed feeling quite cheap. It was a quick minute walk from the elevator, but I was effectively on the other side of the “stadium”. The design is catastrophic, as they didn’t think to put in two elevators. There were no chairs, barely a desk, and no safe. The only light controls were by the bed, with no switches by the entrance.

The front desk staff were super nice, and the rooms were modern and clean. The breakfast buffet was large. I never got an answer to the enquiry email I sent before the stay. The first three nights were fine, but on the last one it was impossible to sleep until 1am, due, I guess, to a concert in Strawberry arena, which is part of the building.
