Best Western Hotel Karlaplan

We were in a quiet, safe part of the city, with shops, services and restaurants nearby, plus public transport and a lovely park. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable. Breakfast was tasty and varied, and coffee and pastries were available in the dining room all day. There could be more vegan choices. I saw one guest give up on the selection and leave to eat elsewhere. The garden was peaceful and lovely, with blankets provided. Our room was clean and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable, but the space was tiny. There was no way to adjust the temperature, and the so-called garden view was just another part of the rooftop.

Breakfast and the reception staff were the only good parts of my stay. I travel a lot and have stayed in hotels in many countries, but this one was a real letdown. I paid 187 euros for one night in a family room. It was tiny, had no air conditioning, and after a shower the whole room felt damp. There was just a piece of wood fixed to the wall where a bedside table should be. For that price, it felt like a motel room.

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were kind, breakfast was lovely, and the location worked well for us. We even had a couple of beers and a glass of wine in the backyard garden, which was a first for us at a city center hotel. Would happily recommend it.

Breakfast was fantastic, with choices for different needs and a separate gluten free section. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful, too. The hotel is quiet at night, so we slept really well. Our room was spotless and on the small side, but never cramped, with everything we needed, a super comfortable bed, and a good-sized bathroom. Shops and restaurants are close enough to walk to, and there are good transport links into central Stockholm if you don't want to walk. We'll definitely come back.
