The Colonial is affordable and better than most hostels around there, so I felt I got my money's worth. It's within walking distance of everything, meaning there's no need for a taxi, train, or bus to get around Stockholm. I'd booked a room without a toilet, but when I arrived the owner, ANDERS, who also works there as a porter, offered me a better en-suite room for free. He and the staff were friendly and gave helpful suggestions for places to go. It has only two stars, but I think it deserves more. I'll visit Stockholm again, and guess where I'll stay? THE COLONIAL! Special thanks to both ANDERS's.

The room was really small, had just one wardrobe, and was dirty. The lift was dirty too. Reception closes at 8 pm, so after that you can't get any information. Colonial Hotel has only one good thing, the breakfast, and sometimes the WiFi.

It's an old apartment building converted into a hostel. The breakfast was low quality but acceptable, and the fruit was gone just 20 minutes after it started. It could work if you're on a tight budget, but, ugh.

A cheap hostel with basic rooms and shared bathrooms. Breakfast is free, but there's no kitchen, and reception closes overnight. It can be noisy sometimes.
