Hotel Diplomat

Murtaza made our arrival easy, greeting us in English and giving us a helpful introduction to the area. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we later learned they spoke a wide range of languages. At checkout, Murtaza arranged a late departure, so we could explore in the morning without worrying about our bags. A great way to finish our Stockholm stay. We spent three days exploring, and Hotel diplomat was perfectly central for getting around by foot, car, and local transit. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were delicious, and the team made us feel at home. The building has beautiful classic features and a warm feel from the moment you enter. We took the quaint little elevator and admired the woodwork and stained glass in the stairwell winding around it. Our room was just the right size, with wooden details, heated bathroom floors, and a few steps down to the bed under a vaulted ceiling. The balcony door opened toward the waterfront, which was especially lovely when lit up at night. The steps in the room were a little hard to see after dark, but we got used to them.

Greg, the head waiter, really stood out. He knew the menu well, explained the dishes, and made spot-on recommendations. He was attentive without hovering, and his professionalism made us feel well looked after throughout the meal. Dining at Hotel Diplomat was a lovely experience from start to finish. The elegant, inviting atmosphere made for a great evening. I'd happily return and recommend it.

The room had a mesmerizing view over Stockholm, and breakfast was a 10/10. You have to try the salmon omelette. We also made use of the gym and sauna, both of which were great. The staff were lovely, and Murtaza at the front desk gave us especially nice service.

The restaurant serves Swedish food at its best, and the spa is a lovely bonus. This is one of Stockholm's few hotels with history, character, and class, in a perfect spot for heading either to Djurgården or Sthlm city.
