Breakfast on the top floor was a highlight, with a great view and lots of choices, including Asian-style options like donburi and miso soup. The handmade pizzas at the bar were delicious too, and it was a nice bonus that laundry was available free, even though we didn't use it. We had a lovely staycation at Hobo Hotel Stockholm. The room was cosy and had what we needed, with a crisp-feeling duvet and a comfortable bed. Hotel bedding can sometimes have a strong chlorine smell that bothers me, but I didn't notice any here. The reception person who greeted us in the morning was genuinely friendly and helpful, as was the rest of the team. The location is right in the heart of the city. I highly recommend Hobo Hotel for any occasion and will definitely return. Just one little downside: the remote was completely out of battery, so we couldn't turn on the TV. We were too lazy to go downstairs and ask.
The room was comfortable enough, with a nice bed and okay pillows, and the bathroom was a decent size with a large shower. But some things didn't match what I'd seen on the website. The wall that was supposed to have all sorts of stuff on it was bare, just a plain hotel wall with no art. There's no central light switch, so you have to turn each light on or off individually, and no clothes storage either. I had to live out of my suitcase. The shower's glass divider is open at the bottom, so water floods the rest of the bathroom when you use it. The rain shower head was really uncomfortable, with about 75% of it clogged. Even the soap shape was awkward and took up the whole sink when I washed my hands. Getting to breakfast at TAK means going down to the ground floor, crossing the lobby, then taking another lift up, but it's worth doing. The buffet is really good and the views over Stockholm are lovely. The location is okay, though if you're heading to somewhere farther away, it's quite a walk to the subway.
I'm usually someone who skips hotel breakfast so I can try local places, or just grab a coffee and croissant on the way out. At HoBo, though, the breakfast was phenomenal and worth booking for on its own. There's a relaxed, almost zen-like setting and a huge range of choices, especially for vegetarians, vegans, and people who prefer gluten-free food. And every staff member I met was genuinely friendly, professional, and still personal. If you're booking in Stockholm, this place is worth a look.
The bar food and breakfast were both excellent, and the staff were genuinely friendly. The rooms are stylish and cool, and the location is central, an easy walk from the station. I had an amazing stay at Hobo Hotel Helsinki and would absolutely stay again.
During my stay at Hobo Hotel Stockholm in April 2025, my camera equipment, passport, and wallet were stolen from the breakfast area at Tak Restaurant on the 13th floor. The entrance had a "Please wait to be seated" sign, and Tak's policy said it didn't accept outside guests on Sundays. Still, an unknown person walked straight into the dining room without being challenged. A Tak staff member saw the person circling the room several times and thought the behavior was suspicious, but no one acted. Two other hotel guests witnessed the same thing. I reported the theft within one minute. The police later closed the case because the hotel couldn't provide CCTV footage. Expedia and Booking.com listings advertise "CCTV in common areas," but there was no camera coverage in the breakfast room, elevator, waiting area, or exit. When I brought this up with management, they said the breakfast area was a "public area" and the hotel had no responsibility for it. I've since filed a formal complaint with ARN, Sweden's National Board for Consumer Disputes, over what I see as a failure to provide reasonable safety under Swedish consumer law. I'm sharing this so future guests can make an informed decision. If you're traveling with valuables, a passport, or expensive equipment, be warned.
