Hostel Bed Breakfast

The neighborhood was great, near the train station, plenty of restaurants, and buses, and the Wi-Fi worked very well. My single room gave me privacy compared with a typical shared hostel setup. It was small but fine for a night or two, and the bed was comfortable. The staff and manager were courteous, too. Still, I was surprised to be asked to rent bed linens for $7.50, since blankets and pillowcases seem like basic sleeping essentials. I was initially confused, perhaps because of an accent difference, and asked again. The staff explained the charge, then waived it because it wasn't mentioned in my email confirmation. Taking off your shoes before entering was also unusual to me, though apparently not uncommon there. The bathroom and nearby shower were shared and outside my room. The towel and comforter provided were stained and looked unhygienic, so I hesitated to use them. Since linens come with an extra charge, guests should be aware they may still arrive in poor condition.
