The building and garden are beautiful, and the interior is a lovely mix of carefully restored original features and modern touches. It all feels chic and elegant. The room was spacious with inventive design, and the Egyptian cotton sheets, first-class duvet and pillows, and top-quality bed made sleeping a pleasure. The staff were kind, friendly, helpful, and professional, with very caring, excellent service. Dinner was delicious fine dining, served in fabulous courses with well-chosen wines. Breakfast was just as delicious, and it made us want to linger. They also provide a lot for guests with dogs, for a small extra fee: beds, dishes, towels, doggy doo bags, and treats. All this at such a fair price!

Leonard at reception made the whole stay feel personal, and everyone was welcoming. We booked the Valentine’s weekend package, and the food was exceptional. Even the rooms had that castle-like atmosphere. I came away with nothing but positive things to say.

The setting was a highlight, close to nature but only 15 minutes from the center, and the seminar room worked great for our company workshop. I organized it for 15 people, and everything went smoothly. Lunch and dinner arrived when we asked, the staff were lovely, the rooms were nice, and the food was great. Very much worth it, and I can only recommend it.

The view over the water is lovely, and the tram into downtown is just a few minutes’ walk away. It’s a hotel in a former stately home, more chateau than castle, and seems geared mostly toward groups and weddings. The staff were friendly. My single room was comfortable, though a little small and quirky. The bathroom was very nice, almost as big as the rest of the room. Breakfast was quite good, but oddly there were no milk products at all. Maybe someone on staff is lactose intolerant, I guess. I’d recommend it.
