Aura Hotel Mackenzie

I stayed two nights and found it cleaner and better than other places I've tried in Singapore, especially for the reasonable price. The hotel seems new, though the building is old, and it's near REX Chang Kee. Our room was clean, with no cockroaches or ants, even when I left food on the table overnight. The helpers were accommodating, as was Anna at reception. It was an easy stay, and I'll definitely come back.

LaeLae made my stay great by helping with check-in and suggesting places to visit in Singapore. The rooms were clean, and the hotel is close to everything.

The price and everything else was superb. I checked in on 15/5/26 for a short sleep, but at around 3am staff called to say checkout was at 12mn and ask why I hadn't checked out. I was already home, and told them I'd left my things in the Express Checkout box because nobody was there. The staff said, "next time cannot like that, have to wait for someone to come and check out." Seriously, was I supposed to wait around without knowing when staff would return? If guests are expected to wait for staff to check them out, please label the box accordingly and remove the express checkout box. Having it there defeats its purpose.

I've stayed at the b88 for two weeks around November '12, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality for the price. Singapore doesn't have to be a rich man's holiday destination, and this is a very reasonably priced choice for budget-conscious travelers. The staff are young locals, mostly college students, and they know their way around town. They were super friendly and helpful. The common area is a great place to relax, meet people, and make friends. The rooms were clean and well ventilated, and the beds and mattresses were comfortable. What mattered most to me was the toilets and bathrooms, which were always kept spotless. All in all, a really good place to stay. Thank you b88! :)
