Beary Best! Hostel Kampong Glam

Right in the heart of Chinatown and close to the MRT, Beary Best Hostel made it easy to explore Singapore. I had a great stay. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, good for solo travelers and for meeting people. The staff were super kind and helpful with suggestions for places to see and eat. Check-in was easy, the Wi-Fi was fast, and everything was well organized. The capsule beds were clean and comfortable, with enough privacy to sleep well. Common areas were tidy and worked well for laptop time or relaxing after a long day out. For Singapore, it was great value. I'd recommend it if you're after a central, clean hostel with a nice vibe.

The neighbourhood around Beary Best! Kampong Glam is lively, and I especially liked the nearby cafés. There were plenty within 100 metres where I could grab a coffee, sit down, and get some work done. It was a comfortable setting for focusing, convenient for business travellers or anyone who needs to work. I stayed there while attending a convention at Suntec City and the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre. Both venues are about 2 km away, so getting around was easy. It was a fantastic choice.

The place did what I needed, somewhere to crash after a long day, but I wouldn't expect much beyond that. I stayed in the first week of October 2025, and there is plenty of room for improvement. They sent a registration link without explaining why it was needed. I only found out when I was locked out at the hotel door that filling in the details was how to get the passcode. The bathroom floor was slippery because the previous user hadn't cleaned up after washing, and the air conditioning was leaking.

The hotel was clean and decent, and the price felt fair. Since it's shared accommodation, though, it really comes down to who you get as roommates. It was pure torture when people with no common sense checked in at 11 PM, then chatted or made calls through the night.
