The rooms were just okay, but it was the cheapest hostel we could find. The staff were very friendly, and the atmosphere was good. Breakfast was only toast, but you could have as much as you wanted, and coffee was available. It's not the closest place to the city, but riding a push bike along the coast is really nice.

The older gentleman, who I think was the owner, was warm and easy to talk to, and helped us feel welcome. The check-in itself was less comfortable. We arrived with heavy backpacks while another guest was being helped, and when we tried to sit on the nearby chairs, the staff member told us to stand behind that guest. I also had trouble getting onto the Wi-Fi. The explanation felt mechanical, and nobody checked whether I got connected.

Tony was a huge help and knew the area well. I could ask him anything, and he really made my stay. The place is lively, breakfast was good enough, and public transport, restaurants and little convenience shops are all close. I was there in September 2025 and thought it was amazing value for the money. It also suits backpackers well, and I even made a friend there who I still follow on Instagram. I'll come back next time I'm backpacking in Singapore.

The food nearby is much cheaper than in other parts of the city, and coffee and tea are free anytime. Tony has a great energy and is very helpful, thoughtful, and willing to put effort into answering every question. The area is quieter than other parts of town, which I loved. If you don't enjoy walking around and exploring, though, you may find it a bit far from the tourist spots.
