The staff were really kind, and we could leave our luggage after checkout, which was good. Breakfast was okay for the price. The bedroom had some space, but it was a little warm because the air conditioning wasn’t enough. The main problem was that the bathroom needed cleaning.

Check the recent reviews and don’t stay here. We booked seven nights, but after two we couldn’t take it anymore and booked a hotel, knowing we wouldn’t get a refund for the rest. The lobby looks alright, but it’s the only decent area, almost like a scam. After we signed and paid, they handed us a bag full of paper cups with instant oatmeal for our breakfast for the week, then took us to a depressing windowless room with bare concrete covered in mold and dust, and tightly packed bunk beds with bedbugs. The whole place is run down. The online photos are simply a lie and must have been taken years ago. The men’s bathrooms were dirty, hot, and unbearably humid, especially on the third floor. Most of the guests seemed to be local workers coming and going through the night. I don’t know how it keeps its online ranking. If you still decide to book despite what I’ve said, ask to see the room and bathroom before you sign and pay, and you’ll save your money.

The location was good, right by a metro station and within walking distance of lots of food in Little India. It was my first hostel, and the stay wasn’t bad, but the place is clearly worn down and doesn’t look like the photos anymore. The bathrooms didn’t seem to get cleaned often, and the floors stayed wet and were slippery. The rooms often got really damp. I didn’t like getting into a wet bed.

The new train station right at the doorstep is a huge plus. My first three stays were superb, but when I returned in December '17, the place was overcrowded and really run down. They messed up my booking, and I had to wait until evening for a bed. The lounge is still there, but it’s not what it used to be. The toilets are run down, and the ground-floor door to the rooms wasn’t working, so any bloke off the street could walk right into the hallways. To be honest, they’re still open, and if you want the lowest rates in town, this might be the place. The rooms are still tip top, and the beds were clean and comfortable, with privacy and security in place. It’s the public spaces that aren’t kept up as well. I might come back if they renovate, but for now it wouldn’t be my first choice.
