Fraser Residence River Promenade

We had a great time during our twelve nights here. The neighbourhood is quiet, and we especially liked the room, pool, and lounge area. Breakfast and the snacks served from 5 to 7 p.m. were tasty and enough for us. The team were cheerful, friendly, and always ready to help. Great World MRT and the shopping complex are an easy, pleasant walk away. We’ll be back soon.

I’ve lived here for 18 months, and the room was just right for one person. Service is top-notch. Breakfast and an evening cocktail every day helped me save money, and the location is good, near Havelock and Great World MRT stations, as well as the Grand Copthorne Hotel bus stop. The cleaning could be more consistent. Sometimes the cleaner forgot to top up the amenities or didn’t clean the room properly. Still, I’m very pleased with my stay and will really miss this place and the kind staff. I hope I can come back as a guest next time. Thanks so much for the hospitality ❤️❤️❤️

The main lobby building is under renovation until the end of November. Part of it is blocked off, and there’s construction noise. We weren’t told about this before booking. The rooms are very nice, with modern decor, natural light, a usable kitchen, laundry, a coffee maker, a Bluetooth speaker, and filtered water at the tap. The small gym and pool are newer and well maintained, though not at a five-star level. The quiet quayside location is a plus. This is four-star at best, despite being listed as five-star on Google. The big disappointment is breakfast and the happy-hour “lounge access.” Don’t weigh them as a plus when comparing hotels, especially with nicer places in Singapore. If you expect something like a Shangri-La, Hyatt, Kempinski, or even Mariott lounge, you’ll be let down by the food, drinks, surroundings, and service. The photos don’t show what you actually get. The food is obviously frozen mini-mart quality, with very few options. Cut-up hot dogs and plastic-wrapped cheese slices are on the menu. The space isn’t polished, service is poor, and you’re expected to bus your own table. There’s no friendly good morning. Happy hour has more frozen food, though the brie slices and Chang beer from Thailand were appreciated. The bar doesn’t have gin, so don’t expect a gin and tonic at the end of the day. Items often ran out and weren’t replenished unless you found a staff member to ask. They’d do it begrudgingly, without an apology or much kindness. Frankly, the lounge hurts Fraser’s brand. They should improve it dramatically or end it altogether. Base your choice on the rooms, small pool and gym, and quiet quayside location. Leave breakfast, happy hour, the lounge, and its service out of your expectations, or you may feel duped by the marketing.

The location is wonderful, the rooms are spacious, well equipped, very clean, and reasonably priced. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful. Breakfast and dinner are basic, but effectively free, as are the soft drinks, beer, wines, and cocktails served daily between 5pm and 7pm. There’s also a pool, gym, and business area. I’ll definitely return.
