Hotel 81 Dickson

We could leave our bags before check-in and after checkout for free, which made it easy to explore without carrying everything around. My buddy and I found the stay comfortable and pleasant. The front desk team were cheerful, polite, and helpful, and the hotel is an easy walk from the Jalan Besar bus stop and MRT station. I'd recommend it to tourists in SG.

My wife and I found the room clean and comfortable, and it was good value for a short stay. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were helpful. We also liked how easy it was to get around: bus options were plentiful, MRT stations were a short walk away, and Little India, Bugis, Rochor, Haji Lane, and Arab Street were all close by. As Sri Lankan travelers 🇱🇰, we'd gladly recommend this affordable and convenient place in Singapore.

We checked out at midnight because I was worried about our eight-month-old baby’s safety. We weren’t offered laundry help, medical care, or a refund, and ended up spending a night outside with an infant. This was our first trip to Singapore, and the whole experience left me anxious and disappointed, on top of the itching and inconvenience. I’ve travelled to many countries, but this is my first time dealing with bed bugs. Earlier that evening, after showering, I was feeding the baby on the bed when my left arm started itching badly. I kept scratching and then spotted a bug. After searching online, I realized it was a bed bug. I had several red spots and raised bites on my left shoulder. We went to the front desk, and Hairul, the front office executive, inspected the room and saw the bug too. He said the sheets were changed regularly but bugs could come from places like crevices or the AC vent, and he tried to blame us. It felt like this was already a problem at the hotel. When we first arrived, we’d also noticed what looked like a blood stain on the wall beside the bed, but didn’t think much of it then. Later, I read that old smeared blood marks can indicate a previous bed bug infestation. The front desk offered us another room, but we chose to leave.

Room 120, and there’s nothing bad I can say about the staff or management. The room service was so fast, and everyone was friendly. Special thanks to manager miss.jasmine, who greeted us with a big smile and gave the best service I’ve had in Singapore. 10/10.
