Mercure Singapore Tyrwhitt

The staff were amazing, and breakfast was nice. I'm just glad we were there for only a few days. Our room was tidy and clean, but the pillows were harder than a brick wall, even for someone like me who likes a firm pillow. Not being able to open a window also made us feel locked in.

Getting around was easy thanks to the convenient location, good public transport access and nearby food options. The rooms are compact, as is typical in Singapore, but thoughtfully laid out. At Mercure Singapore Tyrwhitt, my stay was comfortable overall. The room was clean, modern and well maintained, a pleasant place to unwind after a full day of sightseeing. Staff were courteous and helpful whenever I needed something. A clean, reliable option in a handy location.

The breakfast spread is pretty good, and the service and location are the main things going for this place. The rooms, though very clean, will remind you of Mumbai. The pool is only a meter deep, more suited to dipping your feet with a beer. If you're a couple trying to save money, a homestay would be a better option.

The main problem was sleep. My room was at the back on the second floor, near a karaoke bar, and with windows that let in all the noise, I couldn't sleep before 3 am. I was given a balcony room, but the decor made it useless. Breakfast is crowded if you go during the rush, with limited space. Try before 7 am or after 9 am. For something better, you'll have to pay more. The hotel is clean and has everything you need, in a great location. You can get food nearby for $5, though drinks cost twice as much.
