Hotel Miramar Singapore - SG Clean Certified

I was sorry to hear Hotel Miramar is due to close. It's been a gem, and I hope the wonderful staff are looked after during the transition. They deserve it. The team made the stay feel warm and welcoming, always friendly and helpful. Everything was clean, maintained well, and working properly, and the breakfast buffet was a highlight, fresh and varied with something different each morning. You could tell care went into the details. The location was handy too, about a pleasant 20-minute walk into the city, which made exploring Singapore easy.

The bed was comfortable, though the room felt a little dated and the aircon was very loud. The doorman was absolutely beautiful and shared lots of useful information. The receptionist was abrupt and rude. Still, it wasn't a bad place overall.

Professional, polite staff provided exemplary service, and the food was excellent. The hotel's in a fantastic spot too. I loved my stay.

I had a confirmed, prepaid reservation through Agoda, but when I arrived the staff said the hotel was full and couldn't take us, even though we offered to pay again. Booking.com later confirmed that the hotel was indeed full at that time, so it seems the booking was mishandled or the hotel overbooked. We were left waiting in the lobby for over 6 hours without a proper solution or comfort. My friend has back issues and was in intense pain from sitting there so long. With their health worsening, we had to change our plans and return home early to get medical attention. A trip that was meant to be relaxing ended in distress. I usually don't write negative reviews, but this was unacceptable. Management needs to improve its booking practices and customer service. A confirmed booking paid in advance shouldn't lead to this treatment.
