If you just want the cheapest option near points of interest and don’t care about cleanliness or guest service, this hotel may work. I stayed five days and four nights, and had plenty of issues. The lobby and hallways smelled of cigarettes, the lobby also smelled like trash, and my friends’ room smelled like mold or mildew. My own floor was dirty, and there were no little toiletries like body wash, shampoo, or hand soap. They left two small bottles of water every other day, which wasn’t enough to refill my bottle before going out each day. The window handle or latch was missing, so I struggled to close it and keep humidity out. Only one TV channel came through without static. The bed was extremely firm, and I didn’t sleep well.

The staff were very friendly, and my stay was generally fine. The carpet and pillows could have been cleaner, and the pillows were especially hard and uncomfortable. The hotel is far from much of the action, about a 45-60 minute walk from the main attractions. Those were annoyances more than major issues, so I think 4/5 is fair.

This was the first time I’d heard that visitors can’t go up to the room and are only allowed to sit in the lobby. It’s such a nice, lovely hotel, but I’ll definitely never stay here again!

Being close to Tiong Bahru Market and the MRT, plus the good price, worked well for us. The room itself felt worn and had a bit of a bathroom smell, and we ran into trouble with both the safe and the TV.
