Perak Hotel (Staycation Approved & SG Clean Certified)

We stayed for 7 days and had no complaints. On arrival, the hotel let us check in early, and they also securely stored our bags on both arrival and departure days. Each evening we came back to a clean, neatly arranged room. When the AC gave us trouble, the staff promptly arranged another room without any hassle. The breakfast was satisfying: one Indian dish each day, bread with butter, jam, and peanut butter, fresh fruit, juice, milk with cornflakes and choco flakes, eggs, and a daily special. In Little India, there are plenty of Indian restaurants and convenience stores nearby. I’d definitely recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Singapore.

We stayed for 4 nights and found it great value for a cheap hotel. The breakfast was basic but plentiful, about what you’d expect for a free one. Rooms were clean and functional, with AC and a great shower, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of little India and near several MRT stations. There are lots of bad reviews, so we wanted to share that our stay went well. Highly recommend.

The location is wonderful, and this is a good basic choice with all the essentials. There’s some character to the hotel, though part of that is showing its age. It isn’t flash. Breakfast is very basic but filling, and the rooms are small. The doubles are comfortably big enough for one person. The floors could use better sound insulation.

Everything was okay until checkout, when the lady receptionist refused to let us leave our luggage at the hotel. She said we couldn’t because we’d already checked out, and that we should have said we were leaving the bags in the lobby before checking out. That made no sense. When we politely asked her to clarify, she was rude and kept saying, “It’s not my mistake... not my mistake.” Terrible person.
