Kimberly was especially lovely to talk with and helped us a lot, and the staff in general were friendly and very helpful throughout. We had a fantastic time at Pullman Singapore Hill Street. The hotel is beautiful, our room was lovely with a great view, and the swimming pool was one of the highlights. The soundproofing could be better because we could hear our neighbor. Luckily she was quiet, so it didn't affect our stay too much.
Our Executive Suite was modern and well equipped, with reliable WiFi, a coffee maker, a safe, and a TV with plenty of channels for international guests. The hotel has a rooftop pool and bar with daily happy hour from midday until 1800, plus another pool at concierge level. Breakfast was amazing, with lots to choose from. Bazil and Ilham took good care of us in the Executive Lounge, which is available to guests in executive suites. I'll definitely stay here next time I'm in Singapore. City Hall Station is a short walk away, with Orchard Road and Marina Bay only minutes away by train. Raffles City is also close by.
I've stayed here eight times in the last 12 months. The rooms are modern and well designed, and the rooftop pool has a great vibe. Food at the rooftop could be better. Standard rooms can feel a little small if you don't book a suite. My main disappointment is the way Accor loyalty members are recognized. Members aren't looked after well, and even the GM didn't respond to feedback from a Diamond member. For Accor service and food and beverage, Swissôtel wins. Pullman Hill Street is the better choice for rooms and the rooftop pool. One tip: the aircon turns off when there's no movement. I always wake up hot during the night, so keep a pillow or towel handy to toss across the room and trigger it. It seems to be common in Singapore.
After we checked out, the staff member who helped us was exceptionally kind, attentive, and professional. They handled the currency exchange smoothly, communicated warmly, and housekeeping was excellent throughout. Our child had brought a small traditional Korean snack as a thank-you, and the staff member kindly accepted it. They even suggested taking a photo together, which gave us a very meaningful memory. We stayed two days before heading to Sentosa, and most of the stay was comfortable and satisfying. The pools on the 3rd and 11th floors were a lovely break from the heat during sightseeing. We ordered snacks and rested there before going out again, and the location made it easy to walk to many places and enjoy the city at night. Our first impression was less pleasant. We had emailed ahead because of a night flight and got confirmation that 24-hour check-in was available. The flight was delayed by two hours, so we arrived close to midnight, exhausted. The first-floor staff were kind, but the person at the 3rd floor reception seemed unfriendly and put our family passports down carelessly, which made us uncomfortable after a long travel day. We had also emailed ahead about arriving late because of our night flight and received confirmation that 24-hour check-in was available. Even though the check-in experience wasn't ideal, the kindness and professionalism afterward made a lasting positive impression. I hope the hotel can offer that same hospitality consistently, especially at late-night check-in.
The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful throughout, and generally attentive whenever we asked for assistance. Still, the hotel felt geared toward business guests and conferences rather than a relaxed holiday. Pool access was confusing because the reception and pool areas are awkwardly laid out, and complimentary drinks didn't apply at the pool. There was a sewer smell in the bathroom. Room standards also varied: executive rooms had a water filter connected to the tap, while suites had a separate filtration unit. Electric bidets and expected bathroom amenities weren't consistently available across room types. Breakfast information was unclear too. No one explained well that it was served on Level 1, which caused confusion. Despite my Accor membership, I wasn't offered an upgrade, while family members with a separate booking received two suite upgrades. That felt inconsistent and disappointing. The friendly service was a plus, but the business-focused atmosphere, poor communication, bathroom issues, and uneven upgrade policies made this a less enjoyable holiday stay. It may suit corporate travelers better.
