The location was good, near Bugis Street and the metro, but the room was a dump. There were roaches everywhere, stains on the carpet and walls, and mould in the bathroom. We asked to change rooms and nothing happened. We'd expected a heritage hotel. We booked late for Christmas Eve, so we had few choices for our 5 days. We even tried to get a room at the nearby Ibis, but the dates clashed. This place needs major renovation and cleaning. Stay somewhere else if you can.

The price and location are hard to beat. It's within walking distance of the MRT, plenty of eateries, and shopping malls, and right next to one of Singapore's famous bodhisattva temples. The staff are friendly too. The room is a little old, but clean.

The location is excellent, and the rooms are okay, though a bit dirty, with small roaches running around. I was here with my sons for a budget staycation. The hotel has a vintage feel that reminds you of the 1960s. The staff, apart from the cleaning lady, were friendly. The cleaners speak loudly and rudely.

The location is great and super convenient. Check-in went smoothly, the staff were friendly, and I appreciated getting the early check-in I requested at 1pm. But the room was a nightmare: roaches running around, stains on the carpet and walls, and mould in the bathroom. The hotel badly needs renovation and cleaning. I wouldn't recommend it unless you're really on a budget; stay somewhere else if you can.

I called on Friday, 26th September 2025 to ask for help booking a family room, but the woman who answered was completely unhelpful. She kept insisting I book through Agoda. I explained that Agoda showed the family room as SOLD OUT, but she repeatedly said it was available and wouldn't help me otherwise. Either she doesn't understand simple English or she was careless. There's no button here to post a picture, so how can I show the screenshot of the SOLD OUT listing? 🙄😬
