The food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared. Our rooms were spacious, stylish, very clean, and extremely comfortable, with careful attention to detail throughout the villa. We had a wonderful stay at Villa Muhr in Ribčev Laz, Bohinj. It’s peaceful and beautiful, just steps from Lake Bohinj, with stunning views all around. The comfort, atmosphere, food, and location made a great combination. We felt welcome and relaxed, and would gladly return. Highly recommended for a visit to Bohinj.

The food was a highlight. We ate at the restaurant below Vila Muhr and at the one in the neighboring Hotel Bohinj, and both served original, incredibly tasty dishes. If you can book the special restaurant below Vila Muhr, go for it. We had the seven-course menu with wine pairing, and I thought it was better than my meal at El Bulli. The spa was lovely too, and the masseuse worked out knots I didn’t even know I had. We’ve been lucky enough to stay at many five-star hotels over the years, and Vila Muhr exceeds them all. The property is gorgeous, the rooms were spotless, and we especially loved the in-room sauna. Every staff member we met was incredibly friendly and helpful, ready to get us anything we wanted. Lake Bohinj is stunning, and the setting is a great escape from city stress, with lovely hikes nearby that I’d highly recommend. A phenomenal stay from beginning to end. We can’t wait to return next year.

The building itself is beautiful, and the staff were friendly everywhere we went. Breakfasts were delicious, with lots of high-quality local food, and the four-course dinner was incredible, more like eight courses. That was at the villa, not next-door Bohinj, so I can’t comment on that restaurant. The rooms were lovely and tastefully decorated, with thoughtful touches and amenities. I even came away with a few design ideas for my own house. I’d happily stay again. It felt more like a five-star hotel than a four-star.

Check-in was easy, and the welcome drink and fruit were a lovely touch. The food was incredible: a lovely breakfast and a four-course tasting menu that felt like at least eight, with great presentation and wonderful staff. Vila Muhr is incredible. It’s listed as a four-star hotel, but in my opinion it easily deserves five. I’d stay here over and over, and imagine it’ll get a mention for the accommodations and a food star when Michelin comes around again. Stay if you can, you won’t be sorry. I can’t wait to come back.

The hosts were warm and genuinely caring, and we felt completely at home. Vila Muhr was one of the best stays we’ve had in Slovenia. The elegant, spotless rooms show incredible attention to detail, and every window frames a postcard view of Bohinj’s nature. It’s a calm, deeply relaxing mix of comfort and style.
