Hotel Plesnik

The setting is the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. The mountain view is absolutely worth it, and after just one day away, we already miss being there. I honestly can’t think of anywhere I’ve loved more. We were there for our honeymoon, but the Michelin chef was sick, so we had the half board meals instead. My husband and I thought they tasted like a Slovenian grandmother had cooked every dish, with her culinary school trained son plating them. The food and service were both great.

We really liked the location, the homemade food was tasty, the rooms were clean, and the reception staff were friendly. But the jacuzzi water was cold, so we couldn't use it, and only the saunas in the spa were available. The pillows weren't comfortable either. Breakfast was uncomfortable. A waiter asked us to move to another room because we weren't staying in the main hotel, even though we'd been told before booking that guests in the villa and hotel had the same arrangements.

The setting was astonishing. Driving up through all the autumn colors and scenery felt like looking at a painting, it hardly seemed real. We spent two days and two nights at Hotel Plesnik with friends, and the time of year made the visit especially beautiful. The service was warm from check-in to dinner. Check-in was quick and easy, and we were offered a welcome drink, one of their homemade liqueurs. Whenever we came into the main area with its three reception desks, the staff greeted us with smiles. Our third-floor room had a lovely view of the Alps, the main entrance and the other cabins. It fit three of us comfortably and had a big balcony and a great shower. Towels, robes, slippers and welcome chocolates were provided. We had the meal package, with breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Breakfast had fresh bread, meats, cheeses, jams, cereal and eggs, plus several coffees and juices. It was a real treat. Lunch was lighter, usually soup, salad and assorted bread. Dinner was four courses chosen from a menu, all fresh local food. The spa was one of the best parts: spacious and beautifully designed. All three of us had massages and loved them. Ask for Barbara or Maya if you book one. We would have tried another treatment if we’d had time. The spa was also a lovely spot to relax, read or nap before or after a service. We got out for a brisk walk and took lots of great photos. I’d recommend the hotel for a special occasion or a break from the city to enjoy the outdoors.

In the heart of Logarska Valley, Hotel Plesnik is a wonderful place for a quiet escape. Green fields, mountains and a waterfall nearby make the location breathtaking. The wellness area is lovely and relaxing, and we had an excellent breakfast and fantastic dinner choices with high-quality food. The nightly rate is very high, though. Still, we won't forget the experience.
