Vila Maia

Vila Maja has spacious grounds for guests and is a good base for seeing the many things to explore nearby. The property sits right beside a seawater pool. We stayed four nights in one of its spacious apartments, with a bedroom and a living room with a kitchen, sofa, and bed. The bathroom was roomy and had a bathtub. The room was cleaned daily, and used towels were replaced. Everything was tidy, though the furniture wasn't new. The service was friendly. The downside is that this is a resort, so there's plenty of noise, including loud music by the pool in the evenings. The freshwater shower at the edge of the resort costs €0.50. Even so, I'm satisfied and give it 5 stars.

We stayed in Vila Maia and would recommend it to young families. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the apartment was cleaned daily and stocked with all the utensils we needed. We also booked breakfast, which had a large selection of food. Apartments are rated three stars, but these deserve more. I'd suggest apartment no. 8 and 9 for a family with one or two children. The living room has two sofa beds, so it can sleep six people easily. We had a bedroom and a separate children's room with two beds. The kitchen and living room are combined, with access to a large balcony. There are three air conditioning units, each with separate temperature controls, and two toilets. The larger bathroom has a bathtub. Parking and free entry to the swimming pool are included, with children's animation and other activities too. I recommend it.

The photos make the place look lovely, but the reality was pitiful. The sofa bed in our room had clearly been through a lot. I'd look for a restaurant outside the hotel, where you'll definitely find food that's better and cheaper. And if you want a drink, you have to go and find the waiter yourself. He didn't seem interested in the guests.

We had a large, clean apartment with a big terrace overlooking the outdoor pool and, partly, the beach. The kitchen was spacious, with two sofa beds, and there were five sleeping spots for three people. The bathroom was nice and very clean. The bedroom was just the right size. Everything was clean and renovated.
