Hotel ALBRECHT

The rooms are the highlight: lovely, spacious, and very well done. The hotel sits in a fancy neighborhood, though getting to the city center takes 30-40 minutes. Staff are nice but struggle a bit with English. Breakfast felt overpriced, and the slow service meant waiting about 45 minutes each morning. Dinner had a good selection and came out faster.

We had a really fantastic stay in Bratislava. The rooms were nice, the food was excellent, and the staff were responsive. They had what we needed, and I'd highly recommend staying here.

My room was spacious and nice, and perhaps better than the one I booked. The hotel itself looks pleasant from outside and sits on a quiet hillside away from the city. The location, building, and room comfort deserve four stars, but the amenities and food do not. The restaurant was unavailable for dinner on our second evening because it had been reserved for a private event, and the hotel hadn't told me in advance. The pool and wellness area were also completely closed, apparently for at least the next 10 months. Both were unacceptable. Breakfast was nowhere near the expected standard: just salami, ham, and eggs, with no bread or pastries, croissants, or fruit. In the bathroom, there was no electrical outlet, so I couldn't use a hair dryer or styling tool, and that was the only place with a mirror. The TV required a password, but reception neither gave me one nor explained what to do, so I had to call and ask. When I left, the lobby staff only took payment and said goodbye. They didn't ask how things had gone or invite suggestions for improvement.

The hotel looks fantastic, with a great mix of old and new. I give the design 10/10. The spa is small but nice, especially early in the day, when we had it all to ourselves. The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to help. Still, I was surprised that a five-star hotel had no tea or coffee setup in the room. Breakfast was included, but you had to pay extra for a second coffee or anything beyond the 10 euro allowance. What a strange way to bill guests, like Ryanair had started running hotels. I'd return, but they should put a coffee machine in the rooms and stop nickel-and-diming people at breakfast.
