We enjoyed our stay and would be happy to come back. The Garni Hotel Virgo is on a quiet, walkable street, about a 10-minute walk from old-town Bratislava. There’s convenient parking for a nightly fee. At reception, a helpful staff member pointed out the main sights, and since it was New Years Eve, she also suggested restaurants and told us about events in town. Our room was on the second and last floor. It felt cozy, though the slanted ceiling on the right could make passing that bedside awkward if you have to bend over. We had a fridge, kettle, coffee, and tea, which were replenished for our second morning, plus a wall heating/AC unit. The bathroom was fine, and the shower was roomy, but it had no light and there was some mold in the corners. A light would make it easier to see in there. Sound insulation between rooms could be better: we heard our neighbors talking, as well as people walking in the corridor and going into their rooms. The hotel is in a great location with decent amenities, and overall we had a nice stay.

The staff were very kind, and the room was clean and comfortable with hot water. Breakfast was fabulous. The hotel sits between the main train station (hlavna stanica) and old town (stare mesto), which worked well for us. What more could you ask for?

Check-in is at another hotel a short distance away, but they told us in advance and it wasn’t a problem. The place has no elevator, and getting to the old city takes about five minutes on foot, including two large staircases. The rooms were clean, with daily housekeeping, a kettle, tea, and instant coffee. The bathroom had no shower curtain, which was odd, though it probably bothered housekeeping more than me. The queen beds are two twin beds pushed together, and the mattresses were so firm they seemed nearly collapsed. For the price, better beds would have made this five stars.

We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back. The location was fantastic, and the room was spacious and clean. We were on the second floor, with a little balcony and table where we could enjoy the evening sun and the beautiful garden. The shower was strong, too. Breakfast was outstanding, and they took great care with my gluten-free and vegetarian dietary needs. The coffee was delicious. The staff were excellent, especially the kind, friendly breakfast team. Thanks for a wonderful stay, I’d highly recommend this hotel!

It’s just a few minutes’ walk to the old town, and the location is perfect. Our room was clean and spacious, and had a bath as well as a shower. Secure parking costs 19 euros for one day, and you should book it in advance.
